"He's just not that into you"=amazing!

He's just not that into you is a stellar romantic movie for both men and women alike. The movie features all sorts of comedy, appriciated by both genders. The movie follows the stories of several individuals who's stories overlap. It's a pleasently funny, and it gives females a realistic look at the happenings of a male's mind. I recommend it fully!

Where is music going?

Every decade has their popular genre that defines the era. The question is, what will characterize our era? It seems like rap and R&B are inevitably part of this decade, as it has been the past couple of decades, but this first decade of the new millennium has offered a new age for the alternative punk. Punk and emo music welcomed the new millennium with it's comeback. Breaking out in the early 2000s with groups such as "Bright Eyes," "Motion City Soundtrack," and "Taking back Sunday."These true indy classics brought the alternative music back on the scene true alternative indy and it was later popularized by groups such as "Fallout Boy," "All American Rejects," and the sell-outs "Greenday."

So who will bad boys Kanye West and Chris Brown share their role of characterizing a decade of music with the girly emo bad boys or punk heart throbs? Only time will tell.

First Ammendment

The First Amendment to our Constitution describes how we are different from every other nation on earth. We are able to pursue our hopes and dreams and be who we are without lying. We don't have to hide anything, we have so many freedoms taken for granted.

So many people complain and complain and complain about everything. Yet we don't understand how great we have it here. We have a right to do what we want to do without answering to anyone. Of course this is within reason, but we can talk about how much we hated our President, how much we hate our government, protest, etc. and not worry about getting killed. And not hide. And not worry about our families. This is something other countries have dealt with for centuries.

For media, this is very important and I'm excited we are able to utilize these rights.

Within Temptation

Music is one of my favorite things. Sadly I'm not talented at it, but I wish. My and my friends had a band last semester. It ended up going no where, but it was fun! We were going for a Christian/Hard Rock metal sound. We figured up some riffs and back ground cords, a few lyrics and had a few jam sessions and it was pretty fun! Sadly, it fell apart. Our lead guitarist told us he couldn't do it anymore because he was moving, come to find out he's not moving and found another band (ouch) and our drummer was too busy (true story).

It's all good though. When we practiced mostly in the basement of my former residence at the "debate house" and my roommates were not to fond of that. Our other option was the drummer's house, but with our wierd scheduals practices were late and his parents liked to go to bed early. So option number three was the practice room at the school. Sadly, there's only one student key and Alex and his sex band were unwilling to share the room. Sooooo it wouldn't have worked anyways. My poor little fender squire is sitting unused in the corner of my room. Honestly I kind of suck anways, so I should focus talent elsewhere.

I wish I were better, but keeping rhythm and timing are my pitfalls. Our drummer never really drummed with us, he just worked on guitar stuff with us because the drums were too difficult to move, maybe that would've made a difference. Oh well, no time to waste on has beens or regrets.

The reason I'm talking about it is because my favorite song "What have you done" by Within Temptation is stuck in my head. That's kind of the sound I envisioned for our band. It's got a little mix of different genres, though mostly rock metal, but with understandable lyrics. Listen to them they are amazing!
